NikkiMatsumoto / ニッキー・マツモト
ボーカル、ギター、ベース、琵琶、キーボード等の楽器演奏、作詞、作曲、編曲をこなすマルチミュージシャン
1981年、18歳でアメリカに渡り、ロサンジェルスを本拠地にNEGRO EAST、その前身となったバンドGARGOYLE、など数々のロックバンドにて活動する。
1996年に帰国。21世紀に入り、東洋と西洋のサウンド融合をしたRock Of Asiaを率いて活動を始める。海外での活動に力を入れていたが、コロナで状況は急変。
2021年4月ベストアルバムを発表、シングル「Lal Dhaga」がSpotify ストリーミング・インディーズ世界チャートで25位まで上がる快挙。
バンドでの活動は制約される中、一人でクラシックロックを演奏する、というプロジェクト「Powered Classic Rock」略して「PCR」を結成。
Nikki Matsumoto spent 15 years in the United States playing rock music professionally. He returned to Japan after the music scene in LA had faded. He formed Rock Of Asia in 2009. It is his project with traditional instruments such as Biwa and Shakuhachi, he writes all the songs and sings and arranges them as well.
The single "Lal Dhaga" has gone up to No.25 on the Global Indies
Chart on Spotify in July 2021.
